3.5 timeouts Tuesday

Quick hits catch-up edition.

1.

Katie Holmes has returned to the Catholic Church.  Some people are upset, because the church at which she has registered is not Catholic enough.  Many comments have been made, some valid, some idiotic.  The most idiotic came, sadly, from a priest:: "Ummm, do we really have to take the evil dwarf back?" Father, 'we' are not taking anyone back, the Holy Spirit is taking someone back, and I would seriously not advise anyone to try and place roadblocks for that reunion.  For the proper attitude and reaction to someone returning to the fold, re-read the parable of the prodigal son.

2.

Been travelling around by car on weekends lately.  I love seeing my home. Last weekend we were at Kingston, taking in the old city.  We also attended Mass, and had a bit of a revelation.  I have often heard many conservative Catholics complaining about too much participation, misinterpretations of the active participation mandated by the council and all that.  In Kingston, we saw what no participation looked like, and it was not good.

3.

Pray for friend and fellow blogger Vox Cantoris.  For some reason, trouble always finds him, wherever he is.  Keep slugging, Vox.  You would only find a quiet life boring.

3.5

Happy Birthday to LarryD, who started this whole 3.5 Tuesday mess.  Without him, I'd be blogging even less.  So he's to be praise, or blamed, or something.

I can't imagine what your talking about, though I must admit, it's been a long time since anyone has called me that which one might do with a pin in order to excrete a blood sample. In fact, I can't recall having ever been called one.

And, he seems like such a good Catholic man with theatrical, I mean liturgical savvy.

Then again, there's the 27 page printed out email to 20 people from a 28 year old who lives at home and sleeps until 11AM, doesn't work but fancies himself quite the slanderer.

Oh, careful when you choose to go after someone like that, you never now who his friends are.
