Update on Frodo

His school has found him a place n a special ed class at another school.  Puff was of the opinion the teachers just wanted to be rid of him.  Don't know if it's true.  it is the only real suggestion any of them made.  Special ed. I suppose it's for the best.  Regular ed was doing him no good whatsoever.  In fact, he was going backwards.

I have been there. It is hard. Hopefully you'll find some therapies that work best for your child. Is he enrolled in the Toronto Preschool Speech and Language program? (it's free to age 6, my dd did that one) I also engaged a speech path once a month to give me tips and do a monthly assessment (ie 1 hour of speech) It was more affordable this way.
I'll keep your youngest in my prayers and hopefully the new spec ed class will actually be useful. Is it a language class?
Perhaps the goal can be to work with him and eventually be able to transition him back to his home school (in a few years)
I hope you don't find me full of obnoxious advice here; every child is different and you guys know best as parents.

We've inquired about the preschool speech and such. For whatever reason, nothing came of it.

I waited for 15 months to get an assessment. How old is your child now? I know these things take a lot of phone time.
Using an SLP for support while working on goals at home is a good second. Also I also really liked reading Stanley Greenspan's The Child with Special Needs (available in the library) It had a lot of good suggestions for engagement in play.(notice my cheap or free theme here? We had next to no money in the beginning so I got creative) Also you have two other kids who can be enlisted in the program. (of course it all takes time and it's not easy but one does what one can)

Oh and Greenspan's last book was called Engaging Autism and it might be a newer better book to try. Also available in TPL.
