Quick Word of the Day

Carnival.

Made from the Latin words 'Carne' and 'Vale'.  Literally, "carnival" means "farewell to meat."

Side note: 'vale' is also one of the roots of the word 'valedictorian', which means 'speaker of the farewell'.

This has been your moment of useless pedantry for the day.
