I know these things take a lot of phone time.
Using an SLP for support while working on goals at home is a good second. Also I also really liked reading Stanley Greenspan's The Child with Special Needs (available in the library) It had a lot of good suggestions for engagement in play.(notice my cheap or free theme here? We had next to no money in the beginning so I got creative) Also you have two other kids who can be enlisted in the program. (of course it all takes time and it's not easy but one does what one can)Patiencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08567149340809225297noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3450626869303471458.post-42156993317077518072015-12-09T13:37:13.416-05:002015-12-09T13:37:13.416-05:00We've inquired about the preschool speech and ...We've inquired about the preschool speech and such. For whatever reason, nothing came of it.
Bearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01201581440686945990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3450626869303471458.post-4388164240440922342015-12-09T09:56:07.635-05:002015-12-09T09:56:07.635-05:00I have been there. (it's free to age 6, my dd did that one) I also engaged a speech path once a month to give me tips and do a monthly assessment (ie 1 hour of speech) It was more affordable this way.
I'll keep your youngest in my prayers and hopefully the new spec ed class will actually be useful. Is it a language class?
Perhaps the goal can be to work with him and eventually be able to transition him back to his home school (in a few years)
I hope you don't find me full of obnoxious advice here; every child is different and you guys know best as parents.Patiencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08567149340809225297noreply@blogger.com
