Witchcraft and the Dark Ages

John C Wright has put up an interesting post regarding witchcraft and the burning of witches in the Middle Ages by the Church. To make a long story short, there was almost none. The Witch Burning Period takes place after the Renaissance, at the same time as the birth of the Age of Science and Reason, and the worst of it was confined to Protestant countries.

Read the article, it's worthwhile and gives you some ammunition when someone starts repeating old rumours about the history of the Church.
