I found a documentary on sacred music on Youtube that is well worth watching. It is in four parts, beginning with the Gothic Revolution, then Palestrina, then Byrd and Tallis, and ending up with Luther and Bach.The singing in each part is exquisite. Each part has several installments on Youtube, and the embed is disabled, so I link only to the first installment of each part.
