To my American readers...reader...any guy from south of the border who may be passing by

I saw this over at Brooke McEldowney's comic strip Pibgorn. To paraphrase it for any of my fellow Tolkien nerds out there: the one ring should never be used.  Though it be used for motives never so pure, in the end it will twist evrything to darkness.

I imagine Mr. McEldowney and I would disagree, and often vehemently so, over a large number of issues.  However, I have always respected that he speaks his mind without respect to party or position.  Plus, I liked the head nun that occasionally appears in his other strip, 9 Chickweed Lane.
