My father would have been a hundred today, had he lived. In honour of the day, here's a photo of the man and one of his prize catches.
I remember this day well. You should have seen the big ham, staggering around the place, all the other cottagers coming out to see his big catch, leaning to one side because, gosh darn, that fish was just... so... dang... heavy... He had it mounted and it decorated our dining room for years to come, his pride and joy. He loved when somebody new came into the house and their eyes would go wide, and they would say 'jeez, Ed, how'd you catch that monster?' and he'd say 'Well....' and launch into one of his wonderful fish tales.
I still miss him
