Pubblichiamo qui di seguito il Motu Proprio con cui il Santo Padre Benedetto XVI ripristina la norma tradizionale circa la maggioranza richiesta nell’elezione del Sommo Pontefice. Secondo tale norma, perché il Papa possa considerarsi validamente eletto, è sempre necessaria la maggioranza dei due terzi dei Cardinali presenti.

MOTU PROPRIO WITH WHICH THE HOLY FATHER BENEDICT XVI RE-ESTABLISHES THE TRADITONAL NORM REGARDING THE MAJORITY REQUIRED IN THE ELECTION OF THE PONITFF 26.06.2007
We are publishing [below] the Motu Proprio with which the Holy Father Benedict XVI re-instates the traditional norm on the required majority in the election of the Pontiff. According to this norm, so that the Pope can consider himself validly elected, it is always necessary that the majority be of two thirds of the Cardinals present.
