You don't often hear singing like this...

Unless you attend a Catholic Church.

Meet Florence Foster Jenkins. She was a wealthy socialite from the first half of the twentieth century. She was utterly convinced that she was a great singer, and that her voice compared favourably to the great Sopranos of her era.




She could be considered the patron of cantors, after some of the ones I've heard down through the years. Fortunately, the current one is much better.

Y'know, back in the good ol' days this kid would have been castrated to preserve his voice.
