Elder gets it

Yesterday after Mass, elder asked me why I don't sing the songs anymore (I just sing the ordinary.) I went over the songs we had sung that Mass and I explained how the songs all focused on the congregation, and how I did not come to Mass to sing the praises of myself, or of my neighbours (I am sure they are all very nice people, however...). "Well, duh," said Elder. "We're here to praise God."
