Today is younger's birthday. She's six. I've always felt I should apologize for the fact that she has one of the worst possible birthdays.
Yesterday evening she came to me with some name tags and a bow, and she very carefully and seriously explained to me how she wanted me to wrap her present. She carefully explained the complicated process of peeling off a name tag and sticking it onto the wrapping paper, and then handed me the bow she wanted me to put on top.
Happy birthday, little one. My world is a brighter place because you're in it.
