O God, thank You for the gift of St Patrick who brought Your Word to the Irish. Forgive the ingratitude of those who have forgot that great gift, and, if it be according to Your wisdom and charity, send another Patrick to remind the Irish and their children that You and You alone are God. Amen.
The Irish fanned out from their homeland in the great diasporas of the nineteenth century, and brought the Catholic Faith to far flung corners of the globe. My diocese of Toronto was begun by and for the Irish, who built its first churches that they may continue to live in the faith of their fathers. You can read a bit about that here.
Lastly, here's a bit of Irish culture for you.
