Today is the Canadian Thanksgiving. It is good that we, as a culture, occasionally take time to be thankful for our lives and all that is in them, though in our increasingly secular culture, we are increasingly thankful to no one in particular, except our own glorious selves.
At any rate, it is common on this day to count our blessings, and state the things for which we are thankful. On my long and lengthy list are the usual things- family, friends, home, food, job blah blah blah- but also somewhere on that list is a sense of gratitude that, against all odds, there remain people out there who are willing to point out that the emperor still has no clothes.
