Happy Birthday, Sir Isaac

I just found out that today is Isaac Brock's birthday. The man was, in today's jargon, hard to the core. My favourite story about him is about the time he was challenged to a duel. The challenger was rumoured to be the finest shot in the British Army at the time, and he expected an easy win over Sir Isaac. However, by the rules of the day, the person who was challenged got to set the terms for the duel, such as how far apart the duelists were to stand. Brock set the terms that the duelists were to be separated by the distance of the width of a handkerchief- in other words, they would be standing with their guns pointed against each others' chest. The challenger withdrew his challenge.
