I went downtown today with the brilliant idea that I would do a video version of one of my Catholic history of Toronto walks. I spent about four hours travelling and walking to get about five minutes of video, of which three may be usable. If I recall what my friends who worked in the television and film industry told me correctly, that's actually about par for the course.
This marks a fairly momentous occasion, as I found myself holding my wife's cell phone and doing something I swore I would never do: taking a selfie. I am even considering getting a selfie stick. Shudder.
While I was taking public transit down to the places where I wanted to record, I was mentally setting up shots etc. It was going to be glorious. Then I got there and found other people hanging out most inconveniently, and, of course, construction. I may wait until the Fall and then take another stab at this.
Editing this into some kind of coherent framework is going to be an utter pain.

I know a professional actor--he's had speaking lines in TV and has the union card.
The stories he tells about production issues remind me that acting is comparatively easy. Making it watchable is much, much harder.
