"When the 'ell is it goin' to be strawberry?"

Grousing about the quality of food seems to be an eternal constant in the history of soldiers. The soldier here is tired of the same old flavour, day in, day out. My father, in the Second World War, used to trade his bully beef for American Spam, and each side thought they had the better part of that trade- not because the other side had better food, but because it was, if nothing else, a change. This theme will come up again and again.
