My wife has been having some trouble with her church group that is very similar to some trouble I've been having with my church group for a while. She has in her circle several members who are trying to plan for the future, and be prepared against the time when they are finally able to return to their functions. There are also members in her group who believe there is no point, and want the group to fold and break up.
As I said, I've run into the same thing in my own group, and I didn't understand it there, either. I could understand people deciding there was no point in staying, and that it was time to leave. I have no issue with someone deciding that. What confuses me is the desire that those who wish to continue to stop as well, and the demand that the group not exist without them in it. If they wish to go, there is nothing stopping them. I don't understand why they think everyone and everything should cease without them.

Dunghills abound. One man's dunghill is anothers cushion (Ezechial 13:18). What are they going for and what are you staying for?
There are a few of us who still wish to be active and to get things done. When I ask the men what they were looking for when they joined I generally get a variation of 'Don't know. Can't say. not this. sort of.' I stay for those who want to get jobs done. At times I feel like Abraham arguing with the Lord over the fate of Sodom and Gomorrah.
