We were just informed that four positions were closed at work today- doublespeak for four people got canned. Four people came into work today, and are leaving unemployed. Every couple of years, this happens.
The way they handle it is bad. The four were taken off to one meeting, the rest of us to another. They will not return from their meeting. We will likely not see them again, nor will we have a chance to say goodbye. I've known some of them for nearly 30 years.
Meanwhile, the boss stressed how much he appreciated both ours and their hard work, and how much theirs and our efforts in this trying time meant to him.
He has a funny way of showing it.
Please pray for those whose lives were just upended.
