A new baby, Puff's father is dying, and now this.
The day before Puff was induced there was a memo passed around work informing us that there was to be an all day meeting today. Because I was off on my five day paid parental leave, I didn't attend the meeting, although I have contacted some of the people who were there. The news was grim.
My department is facing severe cuts. At least one guy is gone. The rest of us, assuming I am offered the same deal as the others who were not removed, are given a choice: A severance package; one year at full pay while we wait on a priority list for new available positions (I checked the website for job postings. Normally there are about a dozen. There are now none.); we stay on at reduced hours- from 35 hours a week to 25, representing a 28.6% loss in wages. The changes will take effect October 25th.
One way or another I will be looking for some form of work soon, either as full time, or looking for part time work to make up the shortfall. Quite possibly I will be going back to the way it was before I finally got this job: working multiple part time jobs to try and get enough money to live. Meanwhile, my family will be growing up without me. I took this stupid job to avoid that.
Pray for the guy who was let go. Pray for my family. Pray for me.

That stinks. I'll keep you all in my prayers.
Lots of prayers going your way. Dh has been through two jobs in the last 5 years and is now at home looking either to get another one or start up his own business (which is looking more likely by the day) I hope that this can turn into something good and you can find something that is a decent place to work and full time.
