I believe the proper response to this is "Blow it out your sanctimonious ear."

The people who would believe this are more likely to be handing out granola and brussel sprouts than candy for Hallowe'en, so no big loss. I don't know if the original poster of this was straight up or engaging in satire, but dangerous nonsense likes this needs to be taken out back and shot before more people can take it seriously.  The people who do take this sort of thing seriously are- and I say this in the mildest terms possible with absolutely no trace of exaggeration or hyperbole- the Mouth of Sauron and they must be slain by fire without pity or delay lest civilization be contaminated, wither and fail.
